Why Do So Many Disney Characters Wear White Gloves?

If you take a closer look at Disney’s most iconic characters, you’ll notice that certain features really stand out. Take Mickey Mouse, for example. His oversized ears are so iconic that their silhouette alone instantly screams ‘Disney.’

And, of course, there’s his signature red shorts and big yellow shoes, which complete his unforgettable look.

And even when he’s not wearing those, his iconic white gloves are always part of the look.

In fact, aside from his ears, those gloves are probably Mickey’s most defining feature. And he’s not the only one wearing them, either.

Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and many other classic Disney characters also wear white gloves.

There’s even a joke in A Goofy Movie where Max’s friend, Bobby Zimmerusk, asks, “Why do you think we’re always wearing gloves?”
